I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Sign Language, Interpreting, and Communication research group at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) working on the Signed Language “Depiction as an Engine for Promoting Inclusion, Communication, and Translation” (DEPICT) project.

My research is focused on semiological meaning-making through achieving intersubjectivity using a translanguaging approach, allowing for the full use of one’s semiotic repertoire, in interactions between multilingual multimodal deaf migrants from diverse backgrounds in Norway.

In my free time, I enjoy playing games and attending festivals. I also like volunteering and have been part of the World Federation of the Deaf’s media team as an English translator and proofreader since 2020. Additionally, I organize and facilitate seminars on Sign Language, Interpreting, Linguistics and Communication (Silc Seminars) in IS, English and Norwegian Sign Language (NTS).
